- Tasting Note: Garnet in colour. Expressive aromas of red fruits, perfectly balanced with delicate forest and fine spice aromas. This is a wine that embodies all the freshness and elegance that the Tinta Francisca and Touriga Nacional grapes deliver when planted at an altitude of 430 metres, with a north facing aspect. Seductive and moreish with a fresh, elegant finish.
- Unique Selling Point: The vineyards (70% Tinta Francisca; 30% Touriga Nacional) are planted in the upper part of the Quinta da Cabreira, at an altitude of 430 metres, serving as an inspiration for its name. This is a wine made from recommended varieties for the DOC Douro designation, with an elegant profile, of lesser extraction, a more open color, lower alcohol (12,5% vol) but with good volume and structure. It shows a definition of very fresh fruit, with complexity, structure and persistence, all presented in an elegant and sophisticated profile.
- Vineyard: When Crasto set themselves the challenge of producing a lighter-bodied wine from the Douro, they selected Tinta Francisca as their star variety. The vines have much smaller leaves than other varieties, meaning it produces sugars at a much slower rate, giving lighter alcohol wines. The skins are also thin, giving low-tannins and a lighter colour. The wine is a blend of 70% Tinta Francisca, which produces succulent, soft wine with moderate alcohol, and 30% Touriga Nacional to contribute intensity and spicy complexity; both grown on a north-facing vineyard at 430m altitude in the Douro Superior.
- Vinification: The grapes are completely destemmed with only a light crushing. Fermentation is in temperature-controlled stainless-steel tanks for 4 days in contact with the grape skins, with very gentle extraction. After pressing it is transferred to wooden barrels to complete fermentation.
